These procedures shall remain in effect while the Judicial Emergency is in place or until further Order of the Chief Judge of the Gwinnett Recorder’s Court.

Please be advised you will be required to adhere to the RULES AND GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDING COURT IN THE GWINNETT COURT ANNEX listed below.

RULES AND GUIDELINES
FOR ATTENDING COURT IN THE GWINNETT COURT ANNEX

MASK or FACE COVERING REQUIRED. Everyone entering the Court shall have a mask or face covering that covers both their mouth and nose. The mask or face covering shall remain on while in the courtrooms unless you are given permission to remove the mask or face covering by the judge or other court staff member.

TEMPERATURES TAKEN UPON ENTRY TO BUILDING. Everyone that enters the Court Annex will have their temperature taken by either a handheld thermometer scan or a walk-thru thermal scanner. If you register a temperature of more than 100 degrees you will be asked to leave and return at a later date.

MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING GUIDELINES. Everyone entering the Gwinnett County Court Annex and everyone inside the Annex is required to maintain social distance.  Upon entering the Annex there are markings on the floor to assist in keeping social distance between people.  There are directional markings on the floor and rope dividers to maintain “one way traffic” while outside the courtrooms.  Everyone is expected to follow the directional signage while inside the building.  If there is a line to enter the building, everyone should maintain social distance.

HAND WASHING AND HAND SANITIZER. Hand sanitizer stations have been placed outside of the Clerk’s Office windows as well as outside and inside each of the courtrooms.  Frequent use of the hand sanitizer is encouraged.  Restrooms are located by the elevators on each floor and everyone is encouraged to wash hands frequently.

COURTROOMS. There is a limit to the number of people allowed in the courtrooms at one time so that social distance can be maintained.  The gallery has been marked with “Reserved” signs to tell individuals where to sit while maintaining social distancing.  All courtrooms are sanitized after each court session.  Pens will be sterilized after each use.

If you or someone you live with has tested positive for COVID-19 please contact Recorder’s Court to obtain continuance of your court date.
